THE VICTORIA READING ROOM

Registered Charity Number 304317

The Victoria Reading Room occupied a small area of land in Holton on what is now the site of a house called ‘The Reading Room’ between Victoria Cottage and Warwick House.

The Victoria Reading Room was a wooden/corrugated iron building and for many years up until the sale of the building and land in 1980 served as the main meeting place for Holton villagers.

After the building of the new Holton Village Hall in 1975 the Reading Room ceased to be used and a decision was made to sell the land and the proceeds of £3000 from this sale went into a Charitable Trust to provide funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the new village hall.

The Trustees are:

Custodian Trustees – Holton Parish Council

Trustees - Holton Village Hall Management Committee.
